Learning came to life for Central Brooklyn Ascend Lower School (CBACS) second graders during their recent field trip to the Prospect Park Zoo.
Students spent the day exploring animal habitats, observing wildlife up close, and making connections between what they have learned in the classroom and the world around them. From watching sea lions swim to spotting smaller animals in their enclosures, every moment sparked curiosity and excitement.
Field trips like this give students the opportunity to deepen their understanding through real-world experiences. At the zoo, second graders engaged with topics like habitats, animal behavior, and environmental awareness in a way that is interactive and memorable.
They asked questions, shared observations, and built on their knowledge as they moved through each exhibit.
Beyond the learning, the trip was also a chance for students to enjoy time together, explore a new environment, and create lasting memories with their classmates and teachers.
Moments like these are an important part of the Ascend experience. They help students see the connections between their studies and the world around them while building a sense of wonder and excitement about learning.
