The Bushwick Ascend Charter School lower school is located at 751 Knickerbocker Avenue in a former parochial school on historic Irving Square, in the heart of Bushwick. The facility includes a full-size gym and auditorium, a dedicated cafeteria, and light-filled classrooms with tall ceilings and hardwood floors. Ascend Learning will manage a comprehensive renovation of the building over two years in two phases. The renovation will include replacement of the roof, new heating and air conditioning systems, upgraded electrical and plumbing, and new finishes to the interior spaces that preserve the character and style of the existing building.
