The State University of New York Board of Trustees announced yesterday that it has approved the proposal to establish Canarsie Ascend Charter School in Brooklyn. Slated to open in 2012, the new school will be the fourth in the Ascend Learning network. It is the first Ascend school to be authorized by SUNY.
