Each Ascend school is led by a school director and a leadership team including deans of instruction, deans of students, and a director of school operations. These leaders work together to ensure that all students achieve strong academic outcomes and develop the character skills needed to enter and succeed in college.
School directors are the academic and cultural leaders of their schools. They inspire and motivate the leadership teams to set and attain ambitious academic and organizational goals. Uncompromising in their pursuit of excellence, exceptionally organized and intentional, they drive the “100 1% solutions” that are behind every great school.
Dean of Instruction
The dean of instruction oversees the implementation of the Ascend curriculum, observes and coaches individual teachers, coordinates assessments, and manages and analyzes instructional data.
Dean of Students
The dean of students is responsible for shaping and sustaining the school’s distinctive culture and ensuring that students internalize the school’s values and aspirations for academic excellence. The dean of students oversees the implementation of school-wide systems and procedures while developing trusting relationships with individual students.
Director of Operations
The director of operations is responsible for all non-academic operations at the school, including the school’s business operations, finances, and compliance with its charter and all laws and regulations. The director supervises all non-academic staff at the school.
